What you could do is split your 80 gig in half and install both of your operating systems on and install all your programs to your logical 500gd drive. This means that if you ever get a virus of you c drive messes up you can restore it back within 10 minutes (maximum), you backups are small and you disk manangement is second to none. The next handy trick is to install all programmes from all operting systems onto your logical D drive and that means that you C drives will remain small and easy to backup and restore and you will only be using little space for all you programs because all 3 operating systems are running these programs from the same location.

The work around to this is to just from xp do a backup of your win 7 hidden partiton and restore a backup of vista in hidden form over the top of it and then use the pqboot for windows tool in portable norton partition magic to boot into vista. It does Not work for switching between vista and win7 unfortunately. So you can boot between win7 and xp OR vista and XP. Unfortunately this will only work with XP as your other operating system.
